Lorain County

Lorain County was established in 1822, from portions of several of its adjacent counties. This county became judicially-independent in 1824. The original proposed name for the county was “Colerain”. 

Lorain Lighthouse has been selected as one of the best Romantic Places in Ohio by Best of AmericanTowns. 

Sandy Ridge Reservation in North Ridgeville OH is a great place to see the annual monarch migration.
